Hi, my name is Lieselot, and I'm raising money to help stray dogs in Türkiye.

Sadly, many people are unaware that stray dogs in Türkiye are currently facing a terrible situation. Large numbers of them are being taken off the streets, even though many are gentle, friendly dogs who are cared for by the local community.

One of those dogs is Mandalin, the dog you see in the photo. I met her last year and gave her that name. It didn't take long for me to realize what a sweet dog she is. She loves attention, cuddles, and, of course, she never says no to a tasty treat.

This year, I couldn't wait to see her again. Last year, she stayed near a restaurant close to my hotel, so I visited her several times a day. When I returned this year, I discovered she had been moved to an organization that runs children's camps. By then, she had also made four dog friends. It was obvious how much happier she was than the year before.

The children adored her, and the organization made sure the entire pack had food and water.

Then, during the last few days of my holiday, I suddenly saw only two dogs instead of five. That's when I found out that the others had been taken away. At that moment, I knew I had to act if I wanted to get Mandalin to safety.

Through a rescue organization I already knew from a previous adoption, I was able to have her rescued. Thankfully, Mandalin is now safe. But sadly, there are still so many dogs who aren't.
