Help the Tuckers Through This Health Crisis

My name is Erika and I’m a childhood (but also, lifelong) friend of the Tuckers. To know them is to love and adore them. They’ve always been there for us when any of us have been in need. Now is a time where I ask that we all come together to support them. It is with their permission that I’ve started this page for them.

As many of you know, Jimmy has unexpectedly had some very serious health issues that had him airlifted to Salt Lake City (will post more details below). This family is so incredibly loved and has been so instrumental in many of our lives. They’re all in unfamiliar territory at this time, from unknown medical needs, to an unknown city. If any of you feel like you’d like to help donate a little to help them navigate this time without the added worrry of finances, any amount would be so appreciated.

I took this from Kelli’s fb post earlier:
I had Jimmy go to doctor Tuesday because he had not been feeling well, they did an EKG because his BP was severely high. They sent him to ER, his HR & BP were high. Chest xray, CT-scan & labs showed enlarged heart with fluid on lungs. They admitted him, Wednesday they did some further test to check heart for clots, came back fine & a few hours later it went down hill. His heart was failing. Sent him immediately to ICU & did a heart cath, no blockages but because his heart is so weak it is not functioning they places him on an Impella Pump, heavily sedated him & ventilator. The plan this morning was to wean him off the pump & let his heart gain strength little at a time. Then he began running fever & his kidney is not functioning. Within a few hours we were told he is being life flighted to salt lake. I was able to go with him. He will be sedated & on vent for I don’t know how long, this is not a quick recovery this is a long road at this point. Every moment is changing it seems. I’m exhausted & some times it feels it is hard to breath & keep it together. This is causing issues with Kacey’s BP & the kids are doing the best they can. Some of his family was already headed to Montana & some are flying out tomorrow morning. Plans of course had to be changed but his parents, sisters, brother, nieces & nephews, brother n laws, sister n laws are headed this way. The kids will be headed out for a drive with their uncle & aunt tomorrow morning so please pray for their safe drive here. I have been a whirlwind over the past few days because where we are now was not expected. His doctors, nurses & teams at Intermountain in Billings were amazing, he had a great flight team & at one of the best cardiology hospitals. My coworkers & boss were amazing with sending food & making sure kids ate, my friends Nikki & Shane have been there for whatever support was needed, Jimmy’s boss & coworkers have jumped through every hoop to help in ways we needed & I was too overwhelmed to figure things out. My family has provided prayers & just talking to me when I needed it. I appreciate all the text & messages. We have no idea what got him to this point. Please keep him & all of his family in your prayers.

UPDATE 7/13/24: Will still be sedated & on vent but backed off a small amount of sedation to keep checking for brain activity which he is responding. Vitals are holding good & no fever. He will stay on constant dialysis & stay on keeping where he is.

Update 7/14/24: Quick update on Jimmy Tucker. We waited all morning on echo & it shows his heart is at 45. Yesterday he was at 22 & needed to be at 30 to be able to take the impella pump out. So very quickly it was a coming & saying we are taking him now to take the pump out. His kidneys function is still none, he has developed bacteria infection in lungs & fluid on his lungs & having some issues with BP up & down. He still responding to our voices. This morning I told him “I love you” & he tried to move his head & mouth “I love you” which is hard to do with a ventilator. Just please pray this procedure of removing the pump & goes well.
