In 2020, Jeff and Rachel Trinka moved into the village of Waterford, WI. This little ranch house on Rohda Drive has been where they've celebrated a marriage, births of two children (Brady - 3 & Jacie - 15 months), and have witnessed the growth of the twins (Noah and Mya - 12) into adolescence. They have truly found a place to call home and raise their family.

On Thursday, November 21st, Mya came home from Fox River Middle School and opened the door of the home to be greeted by a cloud of black smoke. During their work / school day, a fire started in the kitchen. Fortunately, no one was home, or injury would have been certain. While physically, this family is safe - almost everything in their home will need to be replaced. The smoke damage touched nearly everything they own.

Rachel and Jeff have selflessly chosen to commit their work to helping professions. While Rachel, serves the sick and injured during 3rd shifts at the hospital in Mukwonago, Jeff has committed his career to teaching and coaching at the high school level. Both of them actively choose to invest in the well-being of others on a daily basis to create a better path forward for those in their care.

It is our opportunity to now help provide them with a better path forward through this tragedy.

Our goal is $6,000 ($1,000 / family member) to help this family recovery and replace their belongings. While they are optimistic that insurance will come through significantly, that will take time. In the short term, we can help them buy back a sense of normalcy through assisting with covering the costs of hygiene supplies, clothes (Jeff shared the only work clothes he now has were the ones he was wearing that day), toys for their toddlers, etc.

While physically they are safe and together, emotionally this has been incredibly challenging. The stress of blowing through their savings to replace everything is something they should not have to experience. With both toddlers and adolescent children, we all know that savings need to be in place to cover unexpected costs for them.
