A week ago, we moved into what seemed to be the perfect home for us. The first day was great, but by day three, my family was so sick. I had horrible headaches, my daughters were breaking out, coughing, and sneezing. My husband’s asthma has been acting up.

I knew something was wrong but didn’t know what. When we woke up on day four, mold popped through the wall, and I immediately knew why we had been sick. We began a deep inspection of the home and found the sink was leaking underneath, there was mold underneath the bathroom floor and in the kitchen cabinets. We did a mold test on the air, and it came back positive.

I immediately reached out to our rental company, and they have been very relaxed in helping us.

Our prayer is that they’d allow us to break our lease with no financial repercussions. If they don’t, it’s $2,400 to break it.

If they do, we still have to put a security deposit and first month’s rent on our new home, after already paying a couple thousand to rent this home.

On top of all that, we will need to throw most of our things away due to the nature of how mold spores spread. Which means we will need to buy all new mattresses, pillows, etc.

We ask above all else that you’d pray for us in this crazy time. Our daughter’s health is of utmost importance. If you can, we’d appreciate any donations to help us get into a new and healthy home.
