Support Mike Tolan & his family as they battle cancer

We are looking for support for the Tolan Family. Our friend, teacher, and community member, Mike Tolan, is facing a challenging battle with stage 4 stomach cancer.

Mike is a dedicated social studies teacher at Richard H. O’Rourke Middle School, where, in a few short years, has positively impacted many young lives. His wife, Renee, is a veteran high school social studies teacher at BH-BL, known for her passion and commitment to her students. She dedicates her time to advising the Mock Trial, the Model UN teams, and currently teaching AP Government and AP World History. Mike and Renee are the proud parents of two wonderful daughters, Sydney (senior) and Addy (sophomore), who attend Shenendehowa High School.

To receive the best possible care, Mike will be undergoing weekly treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. This means frequent and costly trips from their home, adding a significant financial burden to an already difficult situation. The regular travel expenses, including gas, tolls, parking, and potential overnight stays, will accumulate rapidly. Due to the nature of the diagnosis and treatment/care Mike is receiving, his ability to return to work is in question. This added stress makes your support even more crucial.

We are creating this GoFundMe to rally around Mike, Renee, Sydney, and Addy during this incredibly challenging time. The funds raised will help alleviate the mounting medical expenses, including the substantial costs associated with travel to and from Sloan Kettering, and provide much-needed support for their family.
