My name is Bob Timmerman and I am a 58-year-old disabled and unemployed electrical/software engineer. My family is in a dire financial situation due to the long unemployment and endless medical bills.
Our Current Reality
The physical toll on my body has become critical. I live with Type-1 diabetes and severe, systemic arthritis that has dislocated every joint in my hands and feet. My right wrist is dislocated at a 90° angle (see second photo), my ankles have collapsed, and three vertebrae in my neck are displaced, leaving me at constant risk of paralysis if I suffer even a minor fall. I need surgery soon. I have been unemployed for eight months, and we are struggling to keep up with the following:
• Medical Costs: My COBRA insurance premium alone is $3,000 per month, on top of a growing mountain of unpaid medical bills.
• Family Recovery: My wife is currently recovering from knee replacement surgery and is searching for work that offers health insurance.
• Special Needs Care: We provide full-time care for our adult son, who is profoundly autistic and unable to work. He also has Type 1 diabetes.
A Heartbreaking Loss
Our teenage son died tragically from suicide 18 months ago. We are still grieving while trying to keep a roof over our heads.
How You Can Help
We have always been a self-sufficient family, but between the loss of our son and my declining health, we are drowning. Your donations will go directly toward:
1. Maintaining our health insurance coverage.
2. Paying down urgent medical debt.
3. Assisting with daily living expenses while my wife seeks employment.
Any amount, no matter how small, offers us a lifeline. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing our story. Thank you for your kindness and for seeing our family through this time.
