Help the Thies Family Recover from Tree Damage

Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Ethan Thies and I am a lifelong Washington Township resident. My family has been a part of this community since the early 1800s working as farmers and I am proud to live here still. Unfortunately, a tree that was well over 100 years old fell from my neighbor's property on February 16th at 5:30 pm crushing both of my family's cars and hitting the corner of our home. My pregnant wife, my 18-month-old son, and I were home when it came down and the immediate aftermath was one of fear and shock.

I feel extremely fortunate that no one was hurt in this act of nature, but as the adrenaline has worn off, we now face substantial bills to return to normal. We have insurance, but this never seems to be enough and we are looking at bills of over $10,000 from this accident. I am not a person who takes accepting help lightly, but many people have reached out to me after seeing our story on the news this afternoon and the police website asking if they can help. This platform was suggested more than once and this is why I have created this page.

With the anticipated birth of our second child in May and the costs that this will bring to us on top of this unexpected and uncontrollable expense, we are humbling ourselves by accepting help if you feel moved to do so. Please know that this will go towards our home repairs and purchasing of cars for our ability to continue to work.

Thank you again for your help.
