Help the Thesenvitz Family in Their Time of Need

Donation protected
My name is Marcus Whaley, and for one of the few times in my life, this isn't about me.

The cover photo seen here is a family pic of Heather, Tom, Kiley, Tucker, Tarah, Elizabeth, Max, and Molly Thesenvitz! I'm out of breath writing that roster. My wife became really close friends with Heather (mama bear) while working telemetry at the same hospital some years back. Tom is Heather's husband. Old school family, 24/7 comedy. This entire brood showed up to my wedding if you can believe it. The picture went from a Polaroid to a billboard, but I digress. Tom works in the electrical field, but a few weeks back (December 2nd, 2024), he was involved in what could only be categorized as a catastrophic motorcycle accident. Tom suffered most of his quadriceps severed, severed leg tendon, patella from femur, fractured hip, and numerous other injuries.

At the pinnacle of this family's financial fitness, life had to have been a struggle. But they lived, loved, and had time to help my family do the same. This time period was not their pinnacle, and in our current societal environment, struggle for most is not an anomaly. They were between insurance coverages because times were hard. And I can attest, sometimes you have to choose between survival and everything else. We pray for safety. For some, it comes at a price, and for this family, the price hasn't even begun to tally yet. The medical bills are too high to mention but more than any median family could dream of paying off. Heather, being the consummate wife, has been taking time off work, exhausting her benefits weeks ago. You can't not work these days. This family needs both warriors on duty at all times. For the foreseeable future, that cannot be reality, and it takes a village!

And that is my plea. It will take a village to help my friends. I won't go through the laundry list of assistance that will keep this family afloat. I will only say this: This man kept some lights on, and this wife has saved a few lives in that hospital. Maybe we can do the same, but at the very least, read this, do some research, and if you feel inclined, please help this family. That is one of the things we were put here to do. Help when feasible.

Thank You
