There’s a sense of momentum in women’s sports these days, an optimism that stretches across leagues and borders. Evidence of the strength and promise of women’s pro sports is everywhere around us. The past year alone provides plenty of proof. Last summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup saw nearly two million total fans take in the 64 matches played across 10 stadiums — an increase of more than half a million on the event’s previous record.
Our New Brunswick Premier League is no different. Last year we saw an increase in the number of our Fredericton/Oromocto players looking to continuing with their soccer journey. Having seen the interest, a group of soccer fans took on the task of starting a new NBPSL women’s team that is associated with the Oromocto Area Soccer Association. The OASA Senior Women's team will allow more players the opportunity to play in a very competitive league and get ready for their university season in the Fall.
As with any new team, there are extra fees to endure and we would like to lessen the burden on the players and make sure they are set up with everything to be successful this summer.
Funds received from your donations will help cover the cost of field time, refs, travel and gear.
On behalf of the OSAS Senior A Women’s team, thank you for your support and we hope to see you in the stands.
