On December 17, 2025, the extreme windstorm that swept across Montana changed our lives in a matter of seconds. During the storm, a large tree crashed through the roof of our family home in Clancy, causing significant structural damage and making the house unsafe to live in.
The most important news is that everyone in our family survived and is physically safe. We are deeply grateful for that blessing. However, our home is now under major repair, and we have had to find alternative living arrangements while contractors estimate that the repairs will take approximately 8 months to a year to complete. This has created unexpected expenses on top of everything else.
Our homeowners insurance is helping with part of the damage to the house and some debris removal, but it does not fully cover the cost of removing several remaining large, damaged trees on our property. In many cases, insurance only helps remove trees that have already fallen on a covered structure or are blocking access, and preventive tree removal is often an out-of-pocket expense. After seeing what one falling tree did to our home, removing the remaining hazardous trees is critical to protect our house, our family, and anyone who visits our property in the future.
We are setting up this GoFundMe specifically to help cover:
Professional removal of multiple large, storm-damaged trees that still threaten the house
Safe cleanup and disposal of tree debris beyond the limited amount covered by insurance
Any additional related costs (permits, equipment, and emergency work) required to secure the property
Every contribution, no matter the amount, will help us make our home safe again and reduce the financial strain during this long repair period. If you are not able to donate, sharing this campaign with others would mean just as much to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can offer to help our family get back home and feel secure there again.
