A few days ago, our family experienced the tragic loss of our home. On Thursday night, an electrical fire started, and quickly spread throughout the entire left side of the house, destroying three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and laundry room, and began to spread into the kitchen. We are incredibly fortunate that all family members (two humans and one kitty) made it out alive. As my parents waited for the fire fighters to arrive, they stood in their driveway and watched as their entire life was engulfed by flames.

My parents immigrated to the United States, from Hungary, in search for a better life. Coming from humble backgrounds, they had a simple dream of owning a home. A home for their family; to spend time with their loved ones and create memories. They purchased this fixer-upper house in Copperopolis. It was in rough shape but my parents had a vision for how this house could become their dream family home.

Over the course of three years, they poured their entire savings into creating this home. They paid off the mortgage and slowly began to remodel the house, room by room. Just a couple of weeks ago, we were all happily talking about how the house was finally finished and how their lifetime of work was finally complete. I was thrilled at the idea that my hardworking parents would finally be able to retire and simply relax for the first time in their whole lives.

We have hope to rebuild what we've lost, but we need your help. We are asking for you generosity.
