Devlin went into the hospital Wednesday with appendicitis (his appendix burst) and a huge abscess that is full of infection in his stomach by the appendix.

He made it thru emergency surgery and the doctor said it was definitely the worst appendicitis that they has seen in a long time and one of the other doctors said that it’s the worst one she’s ever seen ever in the six years of her practice. Devlin is really sick. They said he’s very lucky and they’re very shocked that he was walking around and tolerating the pain and everything. He is right now at high risk for infection and another abscess to grow or develop. He is looking at a hospital stay of at least a week… right now we are trying to get his temperature under control and blood pressure under control as they are slightly elevated, which is to be expected because of how bad the infection is. Like I always tell Devlin, he is definitely the go big or go home type of kid…he doesn’t do things easy.

Right now, the latest update is that Devlin is not doing very well tonight. He had to have a NG tube placed down his nose to help suction everything out to help also with his vomiting. His intestines have basically gone to sleep on him and his muscles that help him urinate are so weak that they are going to have to place a catheter. They had to put him back on oxygen because he keeps dropping down to the low 80s.

Sunni and her family are also suffering because of the governed shut down and funds and insurance not coming in for a paycheck. They have met with a financial counselor, but they also have 2 other kids and bills for their house, along with food.
