Hello! Stichting Solidarity Kitchen NL is a non-profit foundation established in the Netherlands. We are a group of volunteers originally from Turkey, now living in the Netherlands, who are committed to supporting the people affected by the devastating earthquakes in Türkiye in February 2023. Our mission is to raise funds for sustainable projects in Hatay (Antakya) where the impact of the earthquakes has been particularly severe, and we believe that selling Turkish food and handcrafts (if applicable) at markets and events in the Netherlands is an excellent way to achieve this goal.
We have local contacts in the village, who are providing us with the list of most urgent needs they have. With the sales obtained from different markets we previously established (in Leiden, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Haarlem) and from the catering we provided in a fundraising event in Melkweg, we were able to purchase containers with a WC, shower, and kitchen.
Moving forward, we identified the most critical and urgent needs of the people and animals living in this village and by raising more funds, we would like to provide support for these needs and make a tangible and sustainable impact on rebuilding life in this village.
By participating in more markets and events, we hope to raise more funds to support the resumption of local producers and help them rebuild their lives.
