On August 25th a massive flood hit the Trishuli River valley of central Nepal. Early reports suggest an icefall or landslide blocked the Lende River high in the Himalayas creating a massive lake. When that natural dam broke it sent a wall of water into a densely populated valley. Helicopter pilots reported the wall of water scoured valley walls as high as 400 feet high. Videos show water raging over the 7 story border complex between China and Nepal. Thousands of people were in the path of that flood. The devastation and loss of life has been profound.
