UPDATE-Josh is home!! Yay!! 20 days in the hospital and he is finally home! Thank you so much to our family, friends, colleagues, and community! It really goes to show there is good in the world Josh has a long recovery ahead of him, but at least he can heal in the comfort of his own home. Thank you for the good vibes and love ❤️
Update from Brigit- Josh should be discharged from the hospital this weekend! The doctors say he is healing, and what better place to heal than at home. He will continue to have the wound vac and will need a nurse to come in and assist with that. He may need extra trips to the hospital as well. We appreciate all the donations, thoughts, and prayers.
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my cousin and coworker, Brigit Stuart, and her husband, Josh. Many of you know Josh as a hardworking, dependable logger who’s always the first to lend a hand when someone needs help — whether it’s moving heavy equipment, cutting wood, or fixing something that’s broken. He’s one of those people who gives without ever expecting anything in return.
A few weeks ago, Josh was admitted to the hospital and has now been there for over two weeks. He’s currently in the ICU after undergoing surgery to remove part of his colon due to diverticulosis. His recovery will be long, and doctors say it could be up to a year before he’s able to return to work.
Because Josh is self-employed, he doesn’t have paid time off or disability benefits. Brigit is doing everything she can to keep things going for their family and two boys, but as you can imagine, the bills are adding up quickly.
We’re hoping to rally around them during this difficult time to help cover basic expenses — things like the mortgage, groceries, utilities, and gas — so they can focus on Josh’s recovery without added financial stress.
The Stuarts are incredibly grateful for the prayers, love, and support they’ve already received. If you’re able to donate or share this page, it would mean so much to them.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting such a wonderful family.
With gratitude,
