Dear friends & family of the Strongs,

We are starting this fundraiser to gather around the Strong family & their sweet Briar during a time that no family should ever have to go through. Briar, 2 years old, just recently got diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Clear Cell Sarcoma of the kidney. He will require about 8 months of chemo (approx 9 rounds spaced at 3-week intervals) and a little radiation to treat. During this time, Megan will not be able to work and bring in her income, as she will be at the hospital and her primary focus will be taking care of Briar, not to mention their 2 other children.

He had surgery on 1/27/23 to remove his left kidney (called a radical nephrectomy) and the tumor it contained. They also removed some lymph nodes to biopsy them to check for any spread.

Their doctor said this type of cancer is aggressive, but it has a high recovery rate with this newer formula of chemo that they have developed about 10 years ago. They don't have long-term information because success rates were not good 20+ years ago.

As of today, Briar has been admitted to the hospital. He will be getting more scans to look at other parts of his body, and then have surgery to put in his port where the chemo will be administered.

Throughout this entire nightmare, the Strong family has remained incredibly faithful in the Lord. The last thing they need to be worrying about is financial stress. I hope we can all gather around their family at this time to help support them get through this without that burden, and to donate what you can.
