Hi! My name is Laura and I’m the person behind the local pet service provider ‘Step Pets’.
Widnes waste and recycling centre is home
to two stray cats. Initially this fundraiser was set up to get vet check ups, antibiotics for infections, a heated/insulated cat pod and a stock of cat food before the winter kicks in.
Following the appts our focus has shifted slightly: One of the two cats hadn’t ever been close enough for people to see the awful wound hidden by the fur on his head. The vets have confirmed this appears like it could be a shot wound- with a hole through tissue and bone.
Our goal is no longer just to complete stage 2 of the plan to vaccinate and neuter these cats. Skippy deserves the same chance that a pet cat would receive. He is currently living in my bathroom to recover from his infection to make him as well as possible for sedation and X-rays.
We are crossing our fingers that this injury doesn’t result in there being no treatment options left for Skippy.
Every year our Step Pets community come together and put our efforts into fundraisers for dog rescue centre's or charities that support disabled dogs.
This year I wanted to support cats- as our cat clients and their pawrents are a huge part of the Step Pets family and we want to ensure that we’re giving back to our feline companions too ❤️
Can you help?
any excess funds will either be
a) kept aside for the continued care of these precious kitties
b) donated to a local charity or set up who support similar cases ❤️
