Help the Strand Family

Adalynn Hope Strand was born at 36 weeks to Kenny and Wendy Strand on November 5th, 2019. Adalynn was a perfectly healthy baby when she was born. Due to some respiratory distress, she went to the NICCU for 5 days. She was doing really well and was able to get off the oxygen and start eating. On November 11, she started spitting up and so they backed down on her feeding. They then discovered that she had NEC (necrotizing enterocolitis), which is an infection in the gut and intestines. They took her in for her first surgery and they took out most of her intestines, but they left part of the intestines hoping it would heal on its own. During recover, she wasn't doing well. The next day she went in for another surgery to take out Adalynn's entire intestines. The doctor said that they could either take all the intestines and Adalynn would most likely be in the hospital for the next 3 years or they could let Adalynn pass peacefully. Adalynn's family decided to give her the best chance of living and told the doctor to take all her intestines. After the surgery, she remained in a drug induced coma until 9:45pm on November 12, 2019 when her heart stopped beating.

Recently the family has been contacted by a debt collector about the remaining hospital bills. Insurance covered a large percentage of Adalynn's medical bills, but the Strand family has still been left with the financial burden of paying off the rest of the medical bill which is a total of $20,000.

Would you consider financially helping the Strand Family as they continue to grieve the loss of their daughter?
