Help the Stirewalt Family Rebuild After Flood

The family of Bruce and Karen Stirewalt are creating this GoFundMe for them as well as their 3 small children. They were involved in the Big Sandy Creek floods in Texas on July 5th. They have lost all of their belongings and their house is unlivable. In the early morning of July 5th around 2:30am their home started flooding. Although they were able to get 2 of the 3 kids out, Bruce and his son got stuck on the porch as the waters were rising and at this time already rushing. The roof of the porch collapsed and Jeromy’s shoulder was struck and injured while he was shielding his son. He was able to make it back in the house but the water was up to his chest and rising. He quick put his son on the bar to think of a plan. He was able to make it out of the back of his home to float to a tree to hang on as the house was floating away. At this point Karen’s 2 brothers tied a tow strap to themselves so they could float out to get Bruce and his son. They were able to bring them to safety. Although we are very thankful everyone made it out, we are now asking for help financially. They are currently staying in a hotel until they can find a new home to live in and need monetary help to do so. They will all need new clothes as well as food, etc. We would appreciate any help that you can give. Thank you!
