Hi, friends and kind-hearted strangers—
My name is Jesse Sterns, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my family of seven. After many years of living and working in beautiful but remote Kodiak, Alaska, we’re preparing for a major life transition: relocating to Idaho for a fresh start and better opportunities for our family.
This move is about more than just miles—it’s about creating stability, community, and a future for our children. We’ve poured so much into the people and work here in Kodiak, but it’s time for a new chapter. After a lot of prayer, planning, and soul-searching, we know Idaho is where we’re meant to be.
Why We Need Help:
Moving from an island like Kodiak isn’t just a regular relocation—it’s a logistical and financial mountain. Between ferry transport, gas for multiple vehicles, food, lodging, trailer rentals, and deposits to get set up in Idaho, the costs add up fast.
Breakdown of Expenses:
• Ferry & vehicle transport: $2,500
• Fuel & lodging during the drive: $2,000
• U-Haul or trailer rental: $1,500
• First month’s rent + deposit: $3,000
• Setup costs (utilities, essentials, etc.): $1,000
Total Goal: $10,000
We’re doing our part—selling what we can, working right up until the move, and trimming our expenses—but we can’t do this alone. If you’re in a position to help financially, we would be incredibly grateful. Even small donations add up and mean the world to us. If you can’t give, sharing this with others or keeping us in your prayers is just as meaningful.
Thank you for supporting our family as we take this big leap toward a new beginning.
With gratitude,
Jesse & the Sterns family
