Help the Stephens Family Fight Fibrous Dysplasia

I’m starting this GoFundMe on behalf of a dear former student and his family who are facing an unimaginable medical crisis. They are doing everything they can to stay strong, but the financial and emotional burden has become overwhelming. I’m hoping to rally support from anyone who can help ease some of that weight and give this family a fighting chance during such a difficult time.

My husband has a rare bone disease that not many have even heard about. This is called fibrous dysplasia. He has a massive growth on the jaw that is pressing on his lungs, throat, and it’s only continuing to grow. He was given 3 months to live before his first surgery. After his first surgery, the surgeons had plans of doing a second surgery. Since then, insurance has decided to decline this surgery. My husband’s life is limited. We have two children ages 15 & 9 who love their daddy more than anything in this world, and we fear this disease could get worse and he may not be able to get the treatment he desperately needs. -Shayla Stephens
