This fundraiser is to help my friend and former Park Center Senior High School graduate Andrew Steffl and his family. They lost their home in the recent Marshall fire wildfire in Colorado, near Boulder. As the cover picture shows, they and many others lost their home completely. Thank goodness they were all in Minnesota for the holidays so they were safe, but they have literally lost everything except what they had with them in MN. Insurance will take care of big stuff, but we all know that insurance doesn't cover all that is needed. They need help and need it fast!!!

 

My name is Steve Borgstrom and I first met Andrew at Park Center High School in the mid 1990's as one of his music teachers. He was a talented sax player and gifted science student who became an astronomer and Senior Research Scientist at the Southwest Research Institute, University of Colorado, Boulder. He (and his research partner Max Mutchler), were the first to discover Pluto's moons Nix and Hydra using Hubble Space Telescope data. They were also heavily involved with the teams that discovered Pluto's moons Kerberos and Styx.

Andrew has said that if they receive more money than they are reimbursed by insurance, that they pledge to give any "overage" to other's who were devastated by the wildfires. I am asking for folks to reach out and help this Osseo Area Schools graduate to rebuild his family's house and home. Thank you for considering this.
