Grace Cohen Ilchuk suffered a stroke on March 4, 2021. She received care in the hospital and in a rehab facility. As of March 19th she is at home under the care of Daniel and her niece, Olga, an ER nurse. This is temporary, as Olga will need to return to work.
The stroke has caused loss of speech and she is physically and mentally exhausted. She will need round the clock care and Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy. She will also need assistance with the Activity of Daily Living. Of course, even with Medicare and supplemental insurance, the costs are still exorbitant, not to mention prescriptions.
The family is facing $1000 or more per month in prescriptions and around $10000 per month for in-home care and supplies for an unknown period of time.
We ask you for your support in any amount available to you. The funds will go directly to the cost of care, medications and supportive medical equipment.
The good news is our dear Grace is recovering amazingly well and all reports from the medical team have been positive. We all look forward to the day we can sit down, share a bite and hear her stories and jokes again.
