Help the Spivack Family rebuild!

Friends, Colleagues and Loved Ones:

Please help my sister and her family.  Rachael, Jerry, Sophie, and Lexi have lost their home, and all of their material possessions to a nasty and aggressive wildfire that has destroyed several communities in Southern California and unfortunately will continue for the next couple of days.

On November 9th at 3 am, they received word that the fires were heading their way and FAST.  The winds were moving at almost hurricane speeds. They grabbed what they could, rounded up their 2 big dogs Ency & Bu and their kitten Zuma and headed to my house.  We spent the next 12 hours glued to the live feed from our local news station watching the fires destroy several communities just north of LA at a rate that could be measured in multiple football fields every minute on the minute for hours and now, days on end.  Around 11 am on November 9th, we saw the helicopter cameras zoom in on their road, and the entire hillside was in flames.  One of their next-door neighbors risked his life to stay with his property until the very end.  Unfortunately, the message they were dreading came through that all of the houses in their neighborhood were on fire and everything they owned and accumulated over a lifetime…was now gone.  I am sure everyone has seen the news and felt for the thousands of victims, but I can assure you when it hits someone you love and care for, the feelings are impossible to express fully.  I must say, I am very proud at how well the Spivacks have handled themselves during this catastrophic time in their lives.  This event has uprooted the family which goes well beyond their possessions.  The schools are gone, the local stores are gone, all of their neighbors are scattered and homeless.  It is literally like a war zone.

Please help them.  Join me in jump-starting the long and grueling process of rebuilding the Spivack's world piece by piece.  Every dollar will go a long way.  They are literally at my house with just the clothes they were wearing.  Let’s rally behind them and show them how a compassionate community of friends can act together to support a loved family in need.

From the bottom of my heart - thank you in advance, everyone!

Peter
