On January 12, 2022, the Spitznagel family suffered a major house fire at their home in Amber, PA. Sharyn and Mike Spitznagel, Sharyn's daughter Jessica (21), their two adopted children, Gabe and Kiaria (17 & 15), and Sharyn's mother, Elizabeth, luckily got out but lost the majority of their possessions and will be displaced for at least
9-12 months.
Jessica, who was in the basement when the fire broke out, stayed trying to rescue her two cats. Unfortunately, she was unsuccessful, and both cats perished in the fire. Jessica suffered smoke inhalation and minor burns from hot smoke in her airway and lungs. She made it out of the house, only to pass out and be taken via ambulance to Abington Hospital and then transported by helicopter to Jefferson hospital in Philadelphia, where she spent two days being treated for her injuries.
The entire family of six plus two dogs are currently staying in three small efficiency hotel rooms. The family has lost all of their clothes and belongings and the estimate to repair the home is at least 9-12 months.
Needless to say this is an extremely difficult and stressful time for all of them.
Please remember them in your prayers, as we are thankful that they all made it out and are safe. If you would like to help the family, any amount would be helpful. 100% of the money raised will go to the family for clothes, food, necessities, etc. Thank you!
