We are trying to raise funds for a beautiful and dear Jamaican family, the Spence's. Their whole property in Mount Airy, Westmoreland, JA was just completely devastated by Hurricane Melissa.

My Godmother, Sandy's beautiful mountain-top home in Mt. Airy, as well as her family members' homes on the same property, were affected. Last year, Hurricane Beryl swept Sandy's roof off along with ruining countless artifacts and treasures she's acquired throughout her lifetime. She's an avid collector of antiques. We banded together to come up with money to replace her roof, which was just finished a few months ago. Now an even more catastrophic disaster has taken it away again and devastated the whole property. She really needs money to be able to put in a concrete roof that will withstand these disasters.

The biggest problem in her area is getting resources out there. Materials there are more scarce and more expensive than we can even imagine here. The majority of people can't afford the insurance that's offered. It's way out of control. Reports are that insurance companies have denied the few that had insurance due to the massive devastation.
