My name is Joti and I'm raising funds for the Soboh family in Gaza. Khaleel, my dear friend of over 15 years is currently working in Gaza. He has asked me to help raise funds for a friend’s family, Huda. Huda and I have been in touch discussing what her situation is and how this GoFundMe can help her and the family. This is a photo of what remains of their home.

Huda is trying to get her aging parents and siblings to Egypt. Funds will be sent to Huda's brother in Egypt where he will be able to get the family on a list to leave Gaza. As many already know, it costs thousands of dollars for a single person to be put on a list to leave.

These are the words of Huda regarding the urgent need for funds:

Throughout the aggression on Gaza, my family and I were forced to evacuate multiple times, fleeing for our lives. We faced the reality of being separated due to the scarcity of resources in the place.

Amidst these difficult times, our only hope was the belief that this chaos would eventually cease, allowing us to return our lives, our memories, and our home. However, upon seeing images of our home destroyed, along with our precious memories, our sense of security was shattered, and our dreams lay in ruins.

My brother, Shadi, and I were both students at the Islamic University of Gaza. Just like our home, our university, and every other educational institution in Gaza, lay in ruins. With each passing day, the foundation of our education is under the weight of uncertainty, leaving our future hanging by a thread.

Despite the devastation, we, as Palestinians, refused to allow the bombs to define us or determine our destiny. Instead, we drew strength from our resilient community and the bonds of family.

Now, as we rebuild our lives from the ashes, we turn to you for support. Your generosity can provide the lifeline we desperately need to piece together our shattered dreams and rebuild our futures.

In addition to the challenges, we face as a family, my father's health has been significantly impacted by the conditions of displacement. He suffers from severe back problems, including a disk issue, and his knee issues got exacerbated by sleeping on mattresses. The prospect of living in a tent, with its discomfort and lack of proper support, is simply unbearable for him. The strain on his health grows more acute with each passing day.
