Help the #SnowStrongFamily Initiative

Hello everyone. I am Brian Snow. I am a sportscaster and a sports talk host. I am also married with a family.

In the past two years, my health took a turn for the worst. This journey started June 5, 2021 when I took a fall in the kitchen of my home and my daughter Sanya heard me crash, leaped into action and called 911. When my wife came into the kitchen and found me on the ground, she continued the call with both of them describing what had happened. Minutes later, emergency personnel arrived and began treatment.

Later it was discovered that I had blood clots in both my lungs, which required an emergency procedure at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. After the procedure, that danger was averted. But then there was a mass discovered on the left side of my abdomen.

A few more visits which included a biopsy and the diagnosis was made that I had pancreatic cancer, cancer that I was not supposed to survive. My wife Jodi made the decision to move us from North Carolina back to Indiana. Upon arrival, I was introduced to some folks at Franciscan Health in Columbus, IN.

The health started to improve, but we had to make a visit back to Duke Hospital back in Durham, NC. We made the drive and checked in for another scan of my abdomen. We were flatly told that the tumor I had could not be operated on and Jodi was told to get affairs in order as I was expected to die.

Jodi would not quit nor would she let me quit. We kept in touch and making visits to Franciscan Health and in March we met my oncologist Dr. Raganath. A week after meeting him, he made a phone call to the IU Med Center in Indianapolis, where we were led to Dr. Atilla Nakeeb.

On the second to last week in March, we drove to Indianapolis to meet Dr. Nakeeb. Within that visit, we were told that the tumor can be removed surgically with a six-week recovery time. We were both so excited that we agreed and the surgery was scheduled for April 4th, 2022.

I went in for surgery, came through, and spent nine days in the hospital between ICU and a regular room.

Within the past year, we've had to fight some medicines that didn't work and some that did. Some different complications, including within my abdomen, foot wounds, fatigue, keeping food down, and everything.

A few more hospital visits later, I returned home. And later in the summer of 2022, my family and I moved into a new home. Or what we thought was our home. Unfortunately, some details were not worked out.

But what did work out is the result that we got one Wednesday morning, six weeks before the anniversary date of the surgery - the words IN REMISSION purposely came out of Dr. Raganath's mouth which caused a big celebration!

And because of that, we have decided to seek our kingdom elsewhere. But to do that? Well, this is where you guys come in.

I was denied disability benefits for a few reasons we do not understand, and with only one income in the household, we need your help.

We are looking to move within 100 days and our goal is a good $50,000.00 to cover all costs that are needed. The #SnowStrongInitiative is to get us settled once and for all so we can begin to live.

If you have gotten this far, we thank you for reading our story. And if you feel so inclined, please give to our fundraiser! We thank you well in advance!!!
