Alex Snitker, our rock and our family’s main provider, was rushed to the hospital on Sunday, June 2nd. What we thought was just heat exhaustion that may need some heavy IV fluids we later found out was Legionnaires Disease. This is a deadly form on pneumonia that he contracted while traveling to California a couple of weeks prior. 

For the last week, we have watched him struggle through this horrible illness at some points not knowing if he would make it through or if there would be permanent damage. On top of the Legionnaires Disease, we found out that he was diabetic and it has effected his kidneys but can be managed long term. 

We are fortunate. He’s home. He survived. He will make a full recovery with a change of lifestyle and taking better care of himself. 

We have no insurance and now have to get set up with long term care for the diabetes and still have 4-6 weeks of recovery time for Alex. We have had to spend all of our money for bills this month on getting all new groceries for his change in diet, securing a direct care doctor and paying down payments on his medical bills. 

After we thought we had all of that under control, our air conditioner broke and we have no spent the remainder of what would have gone to our most essential bills on that. 

Our family just went through the perfect storm of hardships. Before he for sick our cars all needed expensive repairs, the extreme weather made our home need expensive repairs and then Alex had to be rushed to the hospital. Now with him not recovering for 4-6 more weeks, we are just going to get further and further behind. 

We hate to ask for any help. We much prefer giving our time and money to those in need and causes we believe in. But today, we are facing not being able to pay the most basic bills to keep our family going and a mountain of new expenses that we never expected. 

Alex is looking at this as a second chance at life and he has promised to not let us down. We just need the help toget ourselves through this rough time.
