Hi. My name is Jessica. I am fundraising for the Smith Family (Dusty, Beth, and their children Brody and Tyde) to assist with unexpected medical costs, childcare expenses, and hotel expenses, etc. In November Dusty developed double Covid Pneumonia and was admitted to ICU and placed on oxygen. After about a week or so in the hospital he was put on a ventilator and transferred to UAB to begin receiving ECMO treatments. Dusty has now been in the hospital for over a month. Has had multiple procedures (such as chest tubes, tracheostomy, feeding tube, etc), and has to be sedated much of the time. His progress varies from day to day. Since he was transferred, Beth has been primarily staying in a Hotel near the hospital when she is not with Dusty since UAB is a couple of hours from their home. The children have been staying with friends and family, and Beth comes home to see them when she can. The expenses are starting to pile up, and with no estimate on how long Dusty's hospital stay will need to be, I am asking that you donate what you can.
