Karina Smith and her daughter Kamyrah returned to an uninhabitable apartment a few days ago after being gone for 6 weeks for treatment of Kamyrah's brain tumor. Kamyrah is a student of ours at Booker T. Washington STEM Academy. Upon returning home, their apartment had been gutted and torn apart due to some busted pipes. They were not given a place to stay and were told by the complex to figure out some alternative housing. We are trying to raise some funds to help support some temporary housing for Karina and Kamyrah and hopefully secure some additional funds to get them to new long-term housing outside of this apartment complex. We are hoping to secure funds ASAP so they can get settled back into a routine. Having to deal with a brain tumor is already an extremely difficult task, but to try to navigate that during a pandemic and come home to no home... Unacceptable.  Please help us to support this wonderful family.
