Help the Smith Family Replace Their Belongings

My name is Amy Binstock and I am fundraising on behalf of Jacob and Codi Smith and their beautiful family. The Smith Family has lived in Dickinson for nearly a decade and have been such a blessing to our community. Jacob worked at Steffes and Codi worked at various jobs while also spending time as a stay-at-home mom to their three precious children.

While everyone who knows them was sad to learn of their decision to move to the Black Hills, we were excited for their family. Unfortunately, this adventure would prove to be a huge trial. Nearly all of their possessions were stolen the night before they were planning to leave. They have filed insurance claims, but if you’ve ever known someone who has lost belongings in a fire, you know that it won’t even begin to cover everything and nothing will replace the sentimental items.

“After much thought and prayer, this summer we decided it was time to move our family to the black hills. Jacob accepted a position at Hydraulic Solutions in Rapid City and his new boss so graciously let us borrow his large enclosed trailer to move. The evening of August 4th we loaded the trailer with most of our belongings from our apartment and garage. After making sure the trailer doors were locked and the hitch was locked and secure he left it parked on the street nearest the apartment to avoid it being towed from the apartment parking lot. He had planned to pull it to South Dakota and unload it bright and early. In the middle of the night the hitch lock was cut and the trailer was stolen. We have filed a police report but as of now it is still missing. This has been a trial we didn’t expect but God has been gracious to us through it all. We’re so thankful for the outpouring of love and generosity from our family and friends. To Him be the glory forever!”

The Smiths are always there to help whenever someone else is in need. Now, it’s our turn to help them. Any amount will help relieve the tremendous amount of stress this has caused their family.
