Help The Sinni-Burden Family After Seattle Bomb Cyclone
Donation protected
On the evening of Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, our sister Linda and her family were caught in the path of a bomb cyclone that started off the Seattle coast. Winds exceeding 80mph ravaged their city. Their house was one of three on the block destroyed. A massive 80-foot white pine tree was uprooted and crashed into their second floor, causing severe damage.
Due to fiberglass contamination from the roof collapse and the destruction of the second floor, they’ve lost much of their personal belongings. At present, they are unable to stay in their home as they await tree removal and the long, difficult process of rebuilding. My sister's family is now experiencing homelessness.
Linda and her husband, Adam, are doing everything they can to stay strong for their two young sons, my nephews, ages 11 and 9, who have both been deeply traumatized by this event. They are currently in a nearby hotel to keep the kids close to school and maintain some sense of normalcy, but they are searching for a more permanent rental (a difficult feat in the Seattle market).
This holiday season feels especially overwhelming, and the loss of their home during such a difficult time is truly devastating.
If you know our sister Linda, you know she’s always the first to step up and help others. Linda and Adam don't often reach out for help themselves. We are reaching out to friends, family, and the community to offer our support as they navigate this unimaginable hardship. Any donation, big or small, will go directly to helping Linda and her family support immediate needs, the alarming cost of tree removal, and to give her boys a bit of joy and comfort this holiday season, despite the trauma they’ve experienced.
Your donation and support is appreciated so much!
