Balbir continues to make steady and meaningful progress, gaining strength with each passing day. While the journey is still ongoing, these small steps forward are bringing renewed hope and encouragement to everyone around him. He remains under close medical care and is following all guidance with patience and determination.

His family is beyond grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support. Every message, prayer, and act of kindness has meant more than words can truly express. In a time filled with uncertainty, the generosity and compassion shown by so many has been deeply felt and will never be forgotten. It has truly restored their faith in humanity.

**UPDATE 03/20/2026**

We are so incredibly grateful to share a meaningful update on Balbir

I just hung up the phone with Gigi and Balbir! He is awake. He is talking. And he has been moved out of the ICU into a cardiac step-down unit.

While there is still a long road ahead, this is a powerful step forward. Balbir is currently being medically managed for two complete blockages that have not yet been addressed, and doctors are discussing the next steps forwarded regarding them.

In the midst of it all, he is in good spirits, aware of the overwhelming outpouring of love, and deeply thankful for every prayer, donation, and share. Truly… he feels it all.

One of the most miraculous parts of this journey so far is that he has zero neurological deficits, something we do not take lightly.

My name is Jessica and I am Gigi Singh’s best friend. For those of you who know Gigi through her incredible talent at Gigi Singh Jewelry, you know she is a pillar of our vendor community. She is someone who has spent over 10 years pouring her heart into her craft and building deep, lasting friendships with everyone she meets. Today, I am reaching out because our dear friend and her family need us to wrap our arms around them.

On Friday, the Singh family’s world was turned upside down when Gigi’s husband, Balbir, suffered a massive "widow-maker" heart attack. It is nothing short of a miracle that he is still with us today, but he remains in critical condition and is fighting a courageous battle hour by hour. While we are endlessly grateful for this second chance, the road ahead is long, difficult, and very uncertain.

Right now, Gigi’s artistry has been put on hold so she can be where she is needed most. She is at the hospital by Balbir’s side and at home caring for their beautiful daughter, Ava, who is their entire world. Between the emotional weight of hospital vigils and the reality of Balbir being out of work for the foreseeable future, the financial pressure is mounting. Gigi is currently unable to attend the events that sustain her business or go to her second job, as her days are spent ensuring that Ava feels safe and that Balbir has his family nearby as he heals.

I have started this fund to ensure that "how will we pay the bills?" is the very last thing on Gigi’s mind. These donations will go directly to the family to cover mounting medical costs, daily living expenses, and anything Ava needs to maintain a sense of normalcy during this frightening time. Providing this relief allows Balbir and Gigi to focus 100% of their energy on his recovery.
