This fundraiser is for my dad, David Sims. Those who know him know that he’s a great person and works his butt off all the time. He’s loved by many many people, especially me and my mom, Amy Sims. My mom and I decided to start a GoFundMe because within the past few months since the end of October his health has started to decline. He kept getting pneumonia and was starting to have troubles with his heart and his breathing. We soon found out in November that he had a mass in his chest next to his left lung. He’s had multiple biopsies on the mass and his bone marrow and the doctors still couldn’t figure it out what it is. Whatever it is, it’s growing fast and there’s a mass in his stomach.
My dad was moved from Deaconness all the way to IU Med in Indy. With him unable to work and receiving as much help from his job as they can (they do not have any benefits unfortunately), we are now relying on donations, financial assistance programs, and mine and my boyfriend’s paychecks since my mom can’t work either. These times are tough now and we aren’t even sure if we can pay rent or any of our bills on time, let alone the possible medical bills. David has been in the hospital since January 7th and moved to IU Med on the 10th of January. All funds through GoFundMe will go towards rent, other bills, gas, possible hotel rooms, groceries, and possible medical bills we could have in the future. In a state of emergency, some funds may need to go towards car maintenance and any emergencies that could potentially happen. We will take any amount we can get, even if it’s just a dollar. We appreciate everything and everyone that comes our way and would also appreciate prayers. Thank you all.
- ”If you can’t afford to donate, a share and a prayer is just the same.” -David Sims
