Help the Simpsons Rebuild After Devastating Fire

I am Fr. James Haden of St. Thomas Evangelical Orthodox Church and I am reaching out on behalf of a family in our congregation – John and Lauren Simpson and their four children, Eva, Luke, John and Caitlin. In the early morning hours of July 21st, a fire started in their kitchen and eventually consumed nearly half of their home – we are so thankful and continue to praise God for His protection as they were all able to escape unharmed.

They are currently staying with family while waiting on decisions from their insurance carrier, and while this too is a blessing, there are many short-term needs like clothing and other personal items. We are hoping to take care of these short-term needs while also looking long-term to help them re-establish their lives. They lost their entire kitchen, laundry room, dining room and living room, and while the bedrooms were spared, the contents of those rooms sustained extensive damage from smoke and asbestos.

It is difficult to calculate all that will be needed to help the Simpsons, but we need to start somewhere. And we're asking for anyone who is moved by their plight, to help with that effort however you are able.
