On Thursday, January 29, 2026, tragedy struck the Simpson family when a fire broke out in their garage. Yoldi L Simpson, my dear friend, faced the unimaginable as two disabled family members needed to be rescued from the home. Both were rushed to the hospital, along with Yoldi's husband, Shawn, as the fire and smoke took their toll. The family’s home is now uninhabitable, and the damage has left them without a safe place to stay. The house will need significant repairs and thorough smoke decontamination before Yoldi’s bed-bound child and mother can return. To make matters even more challenging, Yoldi’s mother does not have health insurance, and the family is now facing unexpected medical bills on top of everything else. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward helping the Simpsons recover.
