The Simmon family have been active members of the Grayslake community for many years. Cory and Brittany moved to Grayslake in July 2017. They have three children-Colin (10), Peyton (7), and Hudson (5) who are very active in baseball, softball, soccer, and dance. Colin and Peyton attend Woodview Elementary School and Hudson attends preschool at Westlake Christian Academy.

In early January, Cory was very unexpectedly admitted to the hospital for some unknown neurological issues that were affecting his sight, stability, and has caused him significant weight loss. Through lots of testing, hospital visits, and being admitted to Condell, Cory was diagnosed with Viral Encephalitis which affected his central nervous system. Though the doctors are hopeful that Cory will make a full recovery, it will be a long and rough road ahead for the Simmon family. Cory is unable to return to work and this may remain the case for many months.
