My name is Imran Shabbeer and I am a family physician in Mississauga, Ontario. I am fundraising for the Shurrab Family. I have been connected with the Shurrab family since since 2023 when they first arrived in Mississauga, Canada after fleeing the war in Gaza.

In October 2023, when the war in Gaza erupted, Brother Moussa Shurrab and his family were forced to flee their homeland in search of safety. They lost their home, property, and everything they have worked for. Arriving in Canada with no money, no employment, and no shelter, they faced the immense challenge of starting over from nothing.

Since coming to Canada, the family has continued to struggle financially. Brother Moussa has not been able to find stable employment, and every day is a struggle to provide for the family’s most basic needs—food, shelter, and daily essentials.

On top of these hardships, the Shurrab family continues to receive heartbreaking news from Gaza. They have already lost a large number of family members, as well as property and community ties. Close family members—including Moussa's parents, siblings, and cousins—remain in Gaza, facing desperate conditions and unimaginable hardship. The weight of these losses has taken a significant emotional toll on the family as they try to build a new life here in Canada.

This campaign has been created to raise $20,000 CAD to help the Shurrab family meet their urgent daily needs. Contributions will go directly toward supporting the Shurrab family:
