You've likely heard about NJ's largest dairy farm being nearly destroyed by the recent tornado. Before hitting the dairy farm, the tornado tore through Blue Bird Acres, the smaller farm right next door.
The Shields family was devastated to walk outside after the tornado to find that it had destroyed almost every inch of their 30 acre farm.
Their family is ok, but their lives are changed forever.
The damage done to their house was minimal, but the horse shelters, barns, fencing, and thousands of trees were destroyed. In less than 1 minute, every tree compirising 30 acres was shredded, twisted, splintered, or completely knocked over. Pictures simply do no justice to how severe the devastation is in person.
Thankfully, everyone who lives on the farm, including the animals, are all safe. However, it took days and a lot of volunteers to help cut out a path among the fallen trees to be able to get to the horses, who were located near the back of the farm.
Their farm is destroyed and there is still so much work that needs to be done.
Please donate today to help the Shields begin rebuilding their lives. Any amount helps!
Thank you to everyone who who dedicated their time to helping the Sheilds clean up the mess this tornado left.
