Help The Sherwood Family Recoup From Devastating House Fire
Donation protected
I can't believe this is something that I even have to think about doing but Hi, my name is Amanda Sherwood. My parents Bill and Janis Sherwood lost their home last night 4/16/24 to a devastating house fire. Were not sure what caused the fire but it went up in flames within seconds. My dad tried to contain the blaze in the garage but there was nothing that could be done. The house is a complete loss. Fortunately nobody was injured, however all our memories, photos and accumulation of items over the 24 years of being in that home are gone. We know those things are materialistic and are SO so grateful nobody was harmed but it's still an incredibly harsh reality. For those of you that know my parents you know that they are such incredible humans. They have always loved to entertain and spoil friends and family at their house with their great cooking, jokes and games. If you've ever been over you know my dad always has amazing home brewed beer on tap. His home-brew set up was spectacular and that is now completely gone. If you know my mom you know how badass she is. She literally travelled across the country by herself in an RV going from children's hospital to children's hospital educating as many people as she could about the disease (Adrenoleukodystrophy) that took my brother Sawyer.
All physical memories of him, her foundation, her awards, my dads GABF and World Beer Cup awards, gadgets, trinkets, tools, cars literally everything is gone. I am hoping to get this going to help lessen the blow of losing everything while they await insurance. Since the house is a total loss this could take years. All money raised will go towards basic living essentials, living costs and the start to rebuild. Anything helps thank you so so so much. And THANK YOU to the Vista Fire Department and all others that responded. No other homes were damaged.
