Update:
4/7/21
2:10 pm—-Thank you to each one of you who has prayed and is continuing to pray for Sterling Richard. The doctors have rounded and, in addition, we have been visited by the neuro-surgeon who performed his brain surgery and the neurology team as well. Here is the new information we have since the update yesterday. Sterling experienced a seizure at 3:57 am this morning. He was already on anti-seizure medication to prevent this from occurring. The neurology team has increased that medication to try to keep any additional seizures from occurring. He also began experiencing something called PEDs (Periodic Epileptiform Discharges). They are also known sometimes as PLEDs (Pseudoperiodic lateralized epileptiform discharges) and are EEG abnormalities consisting of repetitive spikes or sharp wave discharges. We are praying for this to stop. Please pray with us that he has no more seizure activity of any kind.
The MRI results came in from yesterday. It showed that sometime between the initial injury and the surgery to relieve the pressure on the brain from the massive bleed, Sterling experienced a stroke due to the pressure on the brain. The pressure was keeping the blood from circulating properly which caused the stroke. We do not know what this fully means at this time. Neurology is planning to have another visit with us today to go into more detail and to review the MRI on a deeper level with us. We do know that the fact that he is only 6 months old could work in his favor where this is concerned. At one year old, the brain stops growing new cells. He is still in a growing stage for the brain and we are hopeful that this will be beneficial to him. Please pray for no additional strokes. Please pray that the stroke that already occurred does not cause him to lose any functions in his brain or entire body. In spite of what a stroke can mean, we are believing God for a complete restoration to Sterling’s brain and every part of his body. Please pray with us and believe with us for this. We cannot keep up with all of the notes, messages, e-mails, voicemails, texts, etc. We see you and feel your support. It is making a huge difference. Please don’t stop. We need it right now and will need it moving forward. I am very sorry I cannot send a message back to each one of you. I am trying to keep as much energy as possible focused on baby Sterling and will continue down that path. Again, PLEASE share these updates widely and PRAY! We believe in the power of prayer and we serve a BIG God who heals and restores.
Please SHARE and ask for prayers.

On April 4, 2021 Baby Sterling suffered a fall that resulted in a major brain bleed. He was airlifted to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock where he underwent major brain surgery. His parents rushed down there to be with him and will be there in Little Rock for a minimum of 2 weeks. Many people have been asking how to help. Here is a tangible way. Due to Covid restrictions, they are unable to stay at the Ronald McDonald House during this visit. They are only allowing the families of  long-term patients (45 days or more) at this time.  Jen and David will need to stay in a hotel, pay for food, and for gas. Your donation will help them through this unimaginable tragedy.
