Hello! My name is Libbi and I’m fundraising on behalf of my family, but most importantly, the glue that holds our family together, my husband, John.
On Monday, May 12th, my husband, myself, and our 16-year-old daughter hit a deer going 70 mph, totaling my husband’s car. The airbags deployed, we slid sideways down the highway, and went from two reliable vehicles to one.
We have insurance, thankfully, but with the high mileage on the car, we know we will not receive anything close to what it’s worth. To add to this nightmare scenario, in March, my husband’s home away from home for 25 years shut their doors. John poured his heart and soul into this job, and because of that, he has severe bilateral carpal tunnel in both hands. He is currently on workman’s comp waiting on his surgery date, aka, he is technically unemployed for the first time in his adult life. So getting any kind of loan for a vehicle that can stand the amount of driving we do daily, plus not need a ton of work, is simply out of the question right now. It’s stressful, to say the least, and now add this unexpected car accident to the mix.
If you’re lucky enough to know John, you know how kind and selfless he is. He is that one friend everyone can call on and know he’ll be there ready to help out in any way he can. He is known to not only show up in every capacity but he never expects anything in return. He works so hard for his family, he deserves to not stress about this. He is the best dad, the best friend, the best human.
As a family, we’ve been through a lot in the last five years. We know everyone has; COVID was rough, inflation has been rough, times are rough in general. We pride ourselves on not having to rely on the help from others; we work hard, often multiple jobs at a time to make ends meet because having a strong work ethic is so important. However, we’re also humble enough to know that sometimes you need your village, and now is one of those times. We appreciate anything and everything you can give.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story, it means the world.
Love,
