Dear Camp Micah Community,
We are overjoyed to share the wonderful news of the arrival of the newest Micah Mini, Maisie Ilana Seidman. Maisie was born August 25th and Shari and Maisie are both doing well. We are so excited to welcome Maisie into the Micah family.
Shortly after camp ended, Josh was admitted to Maine Medical Center, and after extensive testing, his doctors diagnosed him with a rare blood disease that has significantly affected his kidney function. Josh is expected to be discharged soon and he will face a complex treatment plan in the months ahead. There are still many unknowns, and part of his long-term treatment plan may include a kidney transplant. Through it all, Josh has shown incredible strength, and we are pleased that he, Shari, and Maisie will soon be home together in Providence to begin the next stage of his journey to health.
As this news has begun to get out, many Micah families and alumni have asked what they can do to support the Seidman family. With Josh’s recovery and the joy (and challenges!) of welcoming a newborn, Shari and Josh have a lot on their plate. To support the Seidman family during this time, we have created a GoFundMe page. Contributions will help cover the cost of extra support at home, including care for Maisie and Josh, medical expenses, meal services, and overnight help.
They are truly appreciative of the overwhelming support, calls, and messages from the Micah community. Thank you for surrounding the Seidman's with the love and strength that define our Micah community.
With gratitude,
Mark, Jodi, Mike, Kate, and Averi
