In December Sylvia Seibert was taken to the local ER due to not feeling well, everyone thought it was going to be something that a little rest and meds would take care of but things got worse. She was transferred to Odessa Regional Medical Center as her symptoms got progressively worse. December 21 she was placed on a ventilator due to her body not getting rid of the carbon dioxide in her body. A week later and after talks with her medical team she was transferred to Odessa Medical Centers Critical Care Unit. After test upon test it was determined that Sylvia contracted a rare fungal infection in her lungs. Her doctors started a vigorous course of anti fungal medications. It was also determined that she had meningitis. Here we are a month later and Sylvia is still showing us she wants to fight , she has been moved to a long term acute care facility at MCH and they have removed the tube in her throat and replaced it with a tracheotomy. Through out this whole ordeal her Husband Mark and her two sons Jonathan and Matthew have not left her side. This whole unexpected deal has started putting a strain on the family, worrying about medical bills and regular house hold bills. I started this go fund me to try and help relieve the financial burden on the family. If you can donate I know mark and the boys would be very grateful. If you knew mark and Sylvia like I do they would give the clothes off their backs to help anyone. If you are unable to donate please send prayers.
