Help the Seibert's Family Recover After Devastating Flooding

Our dear friends, the Seibert family, have suffered an unimaginable loss after catastrophic flooding destroyed nearly everything they owned.

The flood claimed their home, their vehicles, their food trucks, and the countless personal belongings that made their house a home. In a matter of hours, everything they worked so hard for was gone.

As they begin the overwhelming journey of rebuilding their lives, they need our community’s support more than ever. Donations will help provide immediate necessities such as temporary housing, clothing, food, toiletries, medications, transportation, and other daily essentials. Funds will also help them replace equipment needed for their livelihood and begin the long process of recovering from this devastating loss.

You may know this amazing family from their food truck, Grove Eats. They have spent a lot of time serving communities, supporting local events, and always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Now it’s our turn to show up for them. Let’s come together to help this incredible family rebuild after losing everything in the devastating flood.

DAILY UPDATE (7/11): 

We have been working incredibly hard, and thanks to an amazing turnout, we accomplished so much today. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who showed up to help. This tribe is large, and we are so grateful. We managed to get all of the outbuildings cleaned out, started demo on the house, and cleared out so much debris. 

Here are our immediate needs to keep the momentum going safely: Gallons of water (for easily watering the animals and filling handwashing stations), Pump Sprayers (to bleach the wood), Cooling supplies(cooling towels or neck fans), Hydration packets (Liquid I.V., Gatorade powder, etc.), Personal care (Wet wipes and Ziploc bags), Gift cards (Gas stations, grocery stores, and home improvement stores), Donated rewards (If you have any Kohl’s Cash or Menards rebates you won't be using, we will happily accept them!), General contractor or like to come and help guide us. We are the muscle we just want some help with the brain part. 

We are also still planning the bake sale for next weekend at LeRoy’s Summerfest. We will be looking for plenty of baked goods donations.

Daily update (7/13)

Today, we officially got the cars and truck towed away, and the new roll-off dumpster arrived just in time. Thanks to that, we were able to completely clean up the rest of the demo work from over the weekend. We also picked up a rental car, made what felt like a million phone calls, and grabbed a water testing kit so we can get those results sent off and get the water situation moving. It is going to be an incredibly hot week ahead, so we aren't entirely sure how much we will safely be able to get done out there. We're going to prioritize safety and take it slow in this heat. 

At this point, we are transitioning into some of our bigger needs. Because we are doing all of this work entirely out of pocket, we are looking for some professional opinions and consults. If you have a specific trade or talent, we would love to pick your brain. 

We are also needing to purchase new vehicles. If you happen be upgrading or know someone who is keep us in mind. Right now, our biggest needs include: Small Engine Repair / Salvage: We have four-wheelers, tractors, and garden tools we are trying to save. 

Equipment & Gear: Kilns, paint, a paint sprayer, hazmat suits, good quality masks, and respirators.

DAILY UPDATE (7/14)

We are making good progress! Almost down to the studs on the main level. We also got the septic pumped, thank you to lewis septic for coming and taking care of us! 

Because of the water damage our electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems all need to be replaced. With no insurance coverage we are trying to do as much of this work ourselves. If you know of a HVAC tech or contractor who's looking for a side job PLEASE send them our way!! These are our next steps to be able to move back home!

 We are so excited for the bake sale! If you or anyone you know bakes and wants to donate that would be wonderful! Donations can be dropped off at Complete Auto Repair in Rochester until Thursday evening. If you have any questions about it please feel free to reach out!! This benefits my neighbors as well who also lost so so much from the flood waters.
