Jennel and Family suffered a great lost as they watched their house burn on the news during the Woolsey Fire in Oak Park. Having to rush home cutting off her busy work day (thinking her and family only needed to evacuate as a temporary precaution), only to result in a devastating loss.
Jennel made it home to quickly pack 1 day's worth of clothing. She took her son and quickly left. Her husband followed behind right before the winds floating with embers engulfed her neighborhood. They barely made it out. They convened at their rendezvous site – Jennel’s mom’s house.
They also had pets – 3 cats. Casey (husband) was able to locate 2 but didn’t have time to search for the remaining feline. Later in the midst of the blaze a reporter on scene found the 3rd cat and took it to get medical attention. Cats and family were reunited.
As unfortunate as this was for the Schlefsteins, they were still able to come out of this situation physically unscathed and as a family. Now without a home and minimal belongings they’re to pick up the pieces and start over.
OUR CAUSE:
To group together as a work family and offer our support by helping Jennel and family get back on their feet financially. Insurance will play a major part in their recovery, until that kicks in, any contributions you would like to offer would be helpful and appreciated.
We recently heard from her. She expressed how crazy that experience was the night of the fire. She also will not be coming back to work until the end of January 2019 to deal with all matters in getting the family's lives in order.
I, Jacqueline, work with Jennel at Midnight Oil and will be withdrawing the funds on behalf of the Schlefsteins. From there, the donations will go directly to the Schlefsteins.
Thanks in advance. We know Jennel and family are thankful beyond words.
Regards,
MO Activision Team
