In August 2025, Rhonda was hospitalized with severe pneumonia, which soon uncovered a very rare and aggressive stage 4 gestational choriocarcinoma that started as a molar pregnancy and spread to her liver and lungs. Several surgeries later and 6 months into intensive inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy have brought many challenges. While she has times of fear, exhaustion, and depression, she remains deeply motivated to continue the fight and beat this cancer.

Throughout her illness, her husband and three teenage children have really stepped up and helped with household chores and moral support despite going through their own daily emotional roller-coasters. The cost of medical care and the continued fight against this cancer is depleting the family's savings and is jeopardizing their ability to remain financially stable throughout this journey.
