On September 1st at 9pm my father was struck by a drunk driver while crossing the street. He was trying to go to his hotel after a long day of work and make it home in the morning for his birthday. Not only was he a father but he was a grandfather to my 3 year old niece and a husband of 32 years to my mom. This news was extremely sudden and we had no time to prepare for any of this. My father was ecstatic that I was in college and bragged about me all the time.
