Our hearts are heavy as we share the devastating loss of Crystal Savaya. Crystal tragically passed away after going into labor with her fifth child, leaving behind her loving husband, Mathew Savaya, and their five beautiful children.
On the night of the tragedy, Crystal had put the children to bed and laid down beside her husband to rest. Their son Santino came into the room and climbed into bed between them. At the same time, Crystal began feeling like her water might break. Crystal and Mathew decided that once Santino fell asleep, they would prepare to head to the hospital. Her hospital bag was already packed and ready.
While lying down, Crystal suddenly began struggling to breathe and called out for Mathew. Moments later, she lost consciousness. Mathew immediately began performing CPR while emergency services were called. EMS rushed her to the hospital, where doctors performed an emergency C-section in an effort to save both mother and baby.
By God’s grace, the baby is doing well. Tragically, despite every effort made by medical staff, Crystal did not survive.
Crystal was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and the heart of her family. Her kindness, strength, and deep love for her children touched everyone who knew her. She created a home filled with warmth, faith, and love, and her absence leaves a profound void in the lives of those who loved her most.
Mathew is now facing the unimaginable—grieving the loss of his wife while caring for and raising their five children, including a newborn baby who will grow up hearing stories of the incredible woman their mother was.
We are asking for support to help Mathew and the children during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will help with:
• Funeral and memorial expenses
• Immediate living expenses for the family
• Childcare and baby supplies for the newborn
• Ongoing support as Mathew navigates life as a single father of five
No family should have to face a loss like this alone. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden so Mathew can focus on caring for his children and helping them heal.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser so others may have the opportunity to support this family during their time of need.
Thank you for keeping the Savaya family in your thoughts and prayers.
